Nails Inc Soho Mews

Published

on

Hi guys, hope you all had a good weekend! I did, it was nice and relaxing! Today I have another one of the Nails Inc Leather Effect polishes to share with you, this one is called Soho Mews and it’s the tan leather effect. I thought we wouldn’t be getting this one here in the US, I had been stalking the Sephora website for it and had pretty much given up, I even tried emailing and tweeting Nails Inc asking if we’d get it here but got no reply (awesome customer service, no?). I still don’t see it on the Sephora site (maybe I’m blind?) but someone told me a couple weeks ago that they found it in store so I went to check out my local store.

I’ve been to a few Sephora’s over the past couple weeks in search of Kat Von D’s foundation and the 4th Nails Inc Feather Effect polish and couldn’t seem to find this polish at any of those stores. I had pretty much given up again but then I wandered into one of the Sephora stores inside JC Penny to take advantage of an Illamasqua sale they were having and managed to find Soho Mews there, I also picked up the red leather effect so you’ll be seeing that soon also!

Alright so anyway enough story time with Jen! Soho Mews is a dark tan, it applies like a creme then develops texture as it dries. The only other creme texture polish I’ve tried so far is China Glaze and this is much more subtle than the texture in it. If you’ve been unsure about trying out textured polishes because you aren’t sure if you’ll like how they feel this one might be one you’ll want to give a go, even to the touch it isn’t super textured feeling. The formula was really really great, I actually wore this with only 1 coat for about 24 hours and it looked fantastic. I ended up doing another coat for the photos but I really didn’t need it for full opacity. Dry time was good, much faster than the glitter textured polish I’ve tried! Both photos are taken in natural sunlight.

Nails Inc is available in the US at Sephora and on Sephora.com, I couldn’t find this on their website but like I mentioned in the beginning of the post I found it in store…but only at the JC Penny Sephora store….weird, right? Nails Inc retails for $9.50 at Sephora.

Color Club Wicked Sweet Collection Swatches

Published

on

Good Morning guys!¬† Hope you all had a good weekend, mine was boring…I guess that’s good? haha

Today I have for you guys swatches of the first of 2 summer collections Color Club has put for this year. This one is called Wicked Sweet. All of the polishes in this collection are scented, and there are a couple interesting combos, color wise. I have heard that this set is already popping up at Ross and is also available on some etailers like Transdesign.com and VictoriasNailSupply.com (my 2 favorites!)

First up Is Get Your Lem-On. This one was pretty sheer, but the color is fab. I don’t have anything dupey in my stash. It’s a bright highlighter yellow with a green shimmer. On it’s own I needed 4 coats for okay opacity, I could have used another but I’m not down with doing 5 coats of polish lol. I also have it layered over white on my ring finger in the pictures below. Over white I only needed 2 coats, awesome! The only downside to layering it over the white is that it seemed to kill that awesome shimmer, you could still see it but it wasn’t very noticeable ūüôĀ Get Your Lem-On smells like….you guessed it, Lemon Candy.

The Lime Starts Here is a bright neon green, I do like this color but it’s nothing new we haven’t seen before.¬† The formula was just okay, for a neon it did well, no dragging bald spotsI Always Get My Man-Darin is a bright orange packed with shimmer! I have a lot of orange in my stash, but again nothing like this one. The formula on this was pretty much exactly the same as Get Your Lem-On, very sheer. On it’s own I used 4 coats and 2 coats over white on my ring finger.

Saturday Spam: Lynnderella

Published

on

Hi guys, hope you’re all having a good weekend so far…I sure as heck am, more on that tomorrow! Today I have a big helping of spam for you….this spam is all Lynnderella! I’ve been waffling on posting this because for the past few months Lynnderella=drama. The drama associated with it turns me off the brand so I had decided not to post pictures of what I have. Then I kind of tested the waters in my¬†Indie spam¬†post with 1 Lynn polish and everyone liked it, so I decided what the heck I’ll just post everything I have that I haven’t shown before in one post. Hope you guys enjoy!

If you want to buy Lynnderella polishes it’s a bit of a process…you have to send in a wish list to Llarowe then wait for your last name to come up in her rotations. I think the 1st rotation of wish lists is still going on so depending on your last name you could be waiting for like 4-5 months, it wasn’t too bad for me but I know some people are frustrated with the wait. I know the waiting sucks but I do like that at least you get everything you want eventually. It’s worth it just to avoid the mad dash of trying to get things before they sell out in .5 seconds during re-stocks. Right now Llarowe is not accepting wish lists but last I heard she would be taking them again soon-ish.

Alright guys…I’m just going to tell you what I layered these over (for most of the polishes) instead of writing a little novel about each! Hope ya don’t mind!

Boy Girl Party over Zoya Ginessa. FYI there is diamond shaped glitter in this…LOVE!!

Very Pretty Vampire over OPI Black Onyx. I actually really don’t love this combo but I was losing daylight so I couldn’t re-do it. My favorite way to wear VPV is over purple!

piCture pOlish New Collaboration Shades: Siren Song, Geode, Douceur & Imperial

Published

on

Hi guys! Today I have 4 of the 5 new collaboration shades from piCture pOlish to share with you! These were released a couple of weeks ago and I couldn’t wait for them to show up at my house. I always love the collaboration shades, it’s fun to read the posts of the girls who created the shades plus I usually feel like these are shades I want too but don’t already own.

Douceur is a light nude/beige base with fuchsia glitter mixed throughout. This was a collaboration with¬†Tartofraises¬†somehow I had never heard of her blog but since getting her shade I’ve been over there looking through her posts and she does really beautiful nail art! To read her post about the shade check out her blog¬†here.¬† The formula was good, it was more opaque than I expected it to be and it wasn’t streaky at all.

Imperial is a super vibrant purple with a heavy blue shimmer and gold glitter. This is a collaboration with Jeanette of¬†The Swatchaholic. I was so excited to see this one, Jeanette is a blogger that I’ve become friends with over the last couple years and I had no doubt that if piCture pOlish ever collaborated with her it would be gorgeous. Well, let me tell you Imperial is insanely gorgeous…this is one of my favorite collaboration shades ever and will most likely be a favorite for 2013 for me. I wore it all of last week and was sad to take it off.

Imperial is super vibrant, more so in real life than it appears in photos, I’m also dying over the stunning blue shimmer in this. I loved how the shimmer was visible in the sun and didn’t disappear in the shade.¬† If you want to read about how Jeanette came up with Imperial and see her beautiful photos of it check out her blog¬†here. The formula was good, it was nice and opaque…I had no issues with application. This does dry a bit matte due to the neon pigment in it.

Siren Song is a sea foam green with a silver flecked shimmer. This is a collaboration with¬†Rebecca Likes Nails. This shade was inspired Fender guitars & bass guitars by Mark & Tom from Blink 182. Ah yes…now that’s my kind of inspiration I love me some Blink 182 and have seen them live several times throughout the years…even stood in like for like 6 hours about 10 years ago to meet them (now I feel old btw). I love the shimmer/glitter in this. It’s bigger than shimmer but smaller than micro glitter…it’s interesting! To read more about the inspiration and naming of Siren Song check out Rebecca’s post¬†here. The formula was good, it was a bit streaky on the first coat but perfect with the second coat.

All of the new Collaboration shades are available on the piCture pOlish website, along with at their network of etailers all over the world like Llarowe, Harlow & Co and Nail Polish Canada. For a full list of etailers all over the world check out the piCture pOlish website here.
