OPI Fall 2011 Touring America Collection Swatches!

Good Morning guys! More fall polishes for you today, this time from OPI’s Fall 2011 Touring America Collection! The Touring America Collection brings us 4 new shimmers and 8 new creme shades! This collection was inspired by a road trip Suzi took across the country and is meant to revive and reinvent some of the classic/iconic fall shades we all love!

My Address is “Hollywood” is a rosy pink with a subtle shimmer.  This seems to me more of a summer color but I really love it and will no doubt, wear it anyway. It is very very similar to Essie Your Hut Or Mine. I did a comparison I will post sometime this week and the only difference is the shimmer! The formula on this was a little tricky, it kept wanting to drag. My best advice is to use a very light touch while applying this polish.

Are We There Yet? is a peachy melon shimmer. This one also feels summery to me but who cares, it’s awesome! Such a gorgeous color, I think it would be flattering a ton of skin tones, I know it was on mine! The formula left a bit to be desired, it was a lot like the formula for My Address is Hollywood. It won’t stop me from wearing and loving this polish!

I Eat Mainely Lobster is a pink leaning coral shimmer. I love the name of this polish haha! I also love the color, I have a lot of coral since I’ve been a little obsessed with it this year but I can’t think of any I have with shimmer like this! Same kind of formula issues as the two polishes above but again it won’t stop me from wearing it!

Suzi Takes The Wheel is a brown toned grey…I call this shade donkey grey. Originally I was going to try and describe it a fancier way but I mentioned it on twitter and people said they knew what I meant so I’m going to go with that lol!

French Quarter For Your Thoughts is a more blue toned grey…or in my animal terms a dolphin grey haha! Usually I gravitate towards grey’s with this tone, they seem to work a little better with my skin tone! The formula again was really great, 2 coats for full opacity!

Now I know if you are just scrolling through the post those two greys probably look identical so I decided to put them side by side. Also…I pulled pretty much every grey Misa and Zoya I have trying to find a dupe to these and nada…isn’t that crazy?!? I thought I would for sure find one but none of them were even close enough to make me want to compare them. I’m sure there are dupes out there somewhere but I don’t think I own them.

A-Taupe The Space Needle is a rich taupe brown. Love it, I love everything like this so are we surprised? nope! I thought this would be similar to the taupe shade from China Glaze’s Metro Collection but nope. China Glaze is more purple. I still need to go through my shades like this and see if I do have anything else close.

Uh-Oh Roll Down The Window is an olive/army green. The name of this polish…lol! I do love the color but to name kind of makes me squirm…maybe I’m weird I dunno. I have a couple comparisons in mind for this, I did one next to Westside Warrior from China Glaze already, not dupes but we’ll see if I have anything that is! Again, great formula!

Get In The Espresso Lane is a dark brown. Seems to have a lot of grey undertones in there as well. I was expecting it to pull a little green based on some of the swatches I have seen but it wasn’t doing that for me.. The formula was again great (are you sick of hearing that yet? lol)

I Brake For Manicures is a dark greyed out plum purple. This was a bit more greyed out than I expected from looking at in it in the bottle. I can’t think of anything quite like this so if you want to see it compared to anything let me know in the comments! I bet you’re going to guess what I say next….great formula! I used 2 coats!

Honk If You Love OPI is a dark vampy purple. yum! Not the most original shade but I love it anyway…I’m a sucker for purple! I did have a little bit of a problem with the formula on this one…make sure you let it dry between coats. Usually I can get away with not doing that but this polish had a tendency to drag at the cuticle.

Road House Blues is a rich dark blue! Love this one so much. It’s pretty much perfection…there is probably a dupe somewhere. I don’t think I have it if there is one but I might need to get it because this color is awesome! Fantastic formula…again!

A Color To Diner For is a gorgeous shimmery red! I left this one to swatch last because it was my favorite in the bottle and I really love it on too! I’m actually wearing it right now as a full manicure! I’m so not a red girl but if all red’s looked like this I might be haha! The formula was better on this one than the other shimmers, I didn’t have the dragging problems with it.

So what do you guys think? Overall I do like the collection, especially the 4 shimmers, Road House Blues, Uh-Oh Roll Down The Window and A-Taupe The Space Needle. I feel like we have seen a lot of these before but it seems to have been OPI’s intention to revive and re-invent some of these shades so I guess that explains it!
Touring America by OPI will be available August 3, 2011, at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $8.50 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Nail Lacquer.

Color Club Wicked Sweet Collection Swatches

Good Morning guys!  Hope you all had a good weekend, mine was boring…I guess that’s good? haha

Today I have for you guys swatches of the first of 2 summer collections Color Club has put for this year. This one is called Wicked Sweet. All of the polishes in this collection are scented, and there are a couple interesting combos, color wise. I have heard that this set is already popping up at Ross and is also available on some etailers like and (my 2 favorites!)

First up Is Get Your Lem-On. This one was pretty sheer, but the color is fab. I don’t have anything dupey in my stash. It’s a bright highlighter yellow with a green shimmer. On it’s own I needed 4 coats for okay opacity, I could have used another but I’m not down with doing 5 coats of polish lol. I also have it layered over white on my ring finger in the pictures below. Over white I only needed 2 coats, awesome! The only downside to layering it over the white is that it seemed to kill that awesome shimmer, you could still see it but it wasn’t very noticeable 🙁 Get Your Lem-On smells like….you guessed it, Lemon Candy.

The Lime Starts Here is a bright neon green, I do like this color but it’s nothing new we haven’t seen before.  The formula was just okay, for a neon it did well, no dragging bald spotsI Always Get My Man-Darin is a bright orange packed with shimmer! I have a lot of orange in my stash, but again nothing like this one. The formula on this was pretty much exactly the same as Get Your Lem-On, very sheer. On it’s own I used 4 coats and 2 coats over white on my ring finger.

Saturday Spam: Lynnderella

Hi guys, hope you’re all having a good weekend so far…I sure as heck am, more on that tomorrow! Today I have a big helping of spam for you….this spam is all Lynnderella! I’ve been waffling on posting this because for the past few months Lynnderella=drama. The drama associated with it turns me off the brand so I had decided not to post pictures of what I have. Then I kind of tested the waters in my Indie spam post with 1 Lynn polish and everyone liked it, so I decided what the heck I’ll just post everything I have that I haven’t shown before in one post. Hope you guys enjoy!

If you want to buy Lynnderella polishes it’s a bit of a process…you have to send in a wish list to Llarowe then wait for your last name to come up in her rotations. I think the 1st rotation of wish lists is still going on so depending on your last name you could be waiting for like 4-5 months, it wasn’t too bad for me but I know some people are frustrated with the wait. I know the waiting sucks but I do like that at least you get everything you want eventually. It’s worth it just to avoid the mad dash of trying to get things before they sell out in .5 seconds during re-stocks. Right now Llarowe is not accepting wish lists but last I heard she would be taking them again soon-ish.

Alright guys…I’m just going to tell you what I layered these over (for most of the polishes) instead of writing a little novel about each! Hope ya don’t mind!

Boy Girl Party over Zoya Ginessa. FYI there is diamond shaped glitter in this…LOVE!!

Very Pretty Vampire over OPI Black Onyx. I actually really don’t love this combo but I was losing daylight so I couldn’t re-do it. My favorite way to wear VPV is over purple!

piCture pOlish New Collaboration Shades: Siren Song, Geode, Douceur & Imperial

Hi guys! Today I have 4 of the 5 new collaboration shades from piCture pOlish to share with you! These were released a couple of weeks ago and I couldn’t wait for them to show up at my house. I always love the collaboration shades, it’s fun to read the posts of the girls who created the shades plus I usually feel like these are shades I want too but don’t already own.

Douceur is a light nude/beige base with fuchsia glitter mixed throughout. This was a collaboration with Tartofraises somehow I had never heard of her blog but since getting her shade I’ve been over there looking through her posts and she does really beautiful nail art! To read her post about the shade check out her blog here.  The formula was good, it was more opaque than I expected it to be and it wasn’t streaky at all.

Imperial is a super vibrant purple with a heavy blue shimmer and gold glitter. This is a collaboration with Jeanette of The Swatchaholic. I was so excited to see this one, Jeanette is a blogger that I’ve become friends with over the last couple years and I had no doubt that if piCture pOlish ever collaborated with her it would be gorgeous. Well, let me tell you Imperial is insanely gorgeous…this is one of my favorite collaboration shades ever and will most likely be a favorite for 2013 for me. I wore it all of last week and was sad to take it off.

Imperial is super vibrant, more so in real life than it appears in photos, I’m also dying over the stunning blue shimmer in this. I loved how the shimmer was visible in the sun and didn’t disappear in the shade.  If you want to read about how Jeanette came up with Imperial and see her beautiful photos of it check out her blog here. The formula was good, it was nice and opaque…I had no issues with application. This does dry a bit matte due to the neon pigment in it.

Siren Song is a sea foam green with a silver flecked shimmer. This is a collaboration with Rebecca Likes Nails. This shade was inspired Fender guitars & bass guitars by Mark & Tom from Blink 182. Ah yes…now that’s my kind of inspiration I love me some Blink 182 and have seen them live several times throughout the years…even stood in like for like 6 hours about 10 years ago to meet them (now I feel old btw). I love the shimmer/glitter in this. It’s bigger than shimmer but smaller than micro glitter…it’s interesting! To read more about the inspiration and naming of Siren Song check out Rebecca’s post here. The formula was good, it was a bit streaky on the first coat but perfect with the second coat.

All of the new Collaboration shades are available on the piCture pOlish website, along with at their network of etailers all over the world like LlaroweHarlow & Co and Nail Polish Canada. For a full list of etailers all over the world check out the piCture pOlish website here.
