OPI Fall 2012 Germany Collection Comparisons!

Published

on

Hi guys! Today I have a ton of comparisons for you guys for the OPI Germany Collection. There are also some other randoms like a couple of the Nicole by OPI Fall 2012 polishes 1 for one of the new OPI DS polishes! There were a bunch more comparisons requested that I unfortunately was not able to do due to not owning the polish you guys wanted to see these compared with. Hopefully another blogger can do them for ya! Check out all the comparisons by clicking the read more button under the collage, there are around 20 of them woohoo!

Nicole by OPI Iris vs ChG No Plain Jane. These 2 are definitely dupes! Formula wise they were also very much the same, I needed 3 coats for each!

Nicole by OPI Mer-maid For Each Other vs. China Glaze Unpredictable. These 2 are also dupes! I did prefer the Nicole by OPI formula here, it was slightly more opaque! I used 2 coats for the Nicole by OPI and 3 for the China Glaze!

OPI Berlin There Done That vs. American Apparel Mouse vs. Essie Chinchilly. Initially I thought Chinchilly would be a dead on dupe for Berlin There Done That but it leans much more grey on the nail! American Apparel Mouse is very close though, Berlin There Done That was a touch darker but you can’t tell in photos and it was hard to tell in person! I used 2 coats of each polish.

OPI Berlin There Done That vs OPI A Taupe The Space Needle. This was a requested comparison but they were so different that I decided to just put them side by side in the bottles for you. I don’t think we need a nail swatch to see that these aren’t dupes!

OPI DS Luxurious vs China Glaze Riveting. The first thing I thought of when I saw DS Luxurious was China Glaze Riveting. I thought for sure they would be dupes! It turns out that DS Luxurious is just a tad darker and more red toned. They aren’t dupes but they are probably close enough for most people! The difference was more obvious in person than in the photo below but not by much!

OPI Danke-Shiny Red vs. Zoya Elisa vs. OPI An Affair In Red Square. Elisa and Danke-Shiny Red are pretty much dupes, I couldn’t tell them apart on the nail! Elisa was the smallest bit darker but really, unless you are really analyzing them side by side no one is going to be able to tell. An Affair In Red Square while very very similar is a bit lighter and not a dupe. I used 2 coats of each polish!

OPI Danke-Shiny Red vs. Zoya Elisa vs. OPI The Color Minnie. Initially when I saw Danke-Shiny Red I thought it would be a dupe of OPI The Color of Minnie. While it’s the same kind of idea The Color of Minnie is lighter and much more pink toned! I used 2 coats of each polish!

OPI Don’t Pretzel My Buttons vs. Essie Sand Tropez vs Essie Brooch The Subject. Sand Tropez is much lighter, no dupes there. Brooch The Subject is much closer, it’s a little bit darker but the difference is very slight….you definitely don’t need both! I used 2 coats of each polish.

OPI Don’t Pretzel My Buttons vs. Essie Toplesss and Barefoot. No dupes here either, Topless and Barefoot is not as dark and doesn’t have as much of a yellow undertone. I think if Don’t Pretzel My Buttons and My Very First Knockwurst had a baby it would be Topless and Barefoot haha!

OPI Don’t Pretzel My Buttons vs Zoya Avery. Avery was the first polish I thought of when I saw Don’t Pretzel My Buttons. These are almost dupes, not 100% identical but I don’t think you need both in your stash! I used 2 coats of each. For the record, I prefer the Zoya formula here but they are both great!

OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest vs Nicole by OPI Smile For The Glam-era. No dupes here, Smile for the Glam-era is darker and the shimmer is a bit different and not as glowy looking. I used 2 coats of each polish.

OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest vs. OPI Black Cherry Chutney vs Nars Purple Rain. No dupes here either. Black Cherry Chutney is the same kind of idea but the base of it is much more opaque and the shimmer is a lot more hidden. Purple Rain is also the same kind of idea but it’s more of a purple shimmer in a purple base where Every Month Is Oktoberfest is a reddish shimmer in a purple base.

OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest vs. Zoya Jem vs. OPI Plum Full of Cheer. No dupes here either but these 2 are both closer than the last comparison! Jem and Plum Full of Cheer are both a little bit more purple.

OPI German-icure by OPI vs OPI Midnight In Moscow. I thought for sure these 2 would be dupes. I guess my memory of Midnight In Moscow was waaaay off haha! German-icure by OPI is like Midnight In Moscow on steroids!

OPI German-icure by OPI vs. Jessica Cinnamon Kiss. Alright now, now we’re talking. This Jessica is as close as I have to a dupe for German-icure. In the sun I can’t tell a difference between them but in the shade you can tell that the base of German-icure is a bit darker and not as shimmer packed. I don’t want to call these dupes since you can see a difference in the shade but I think it’s about as close as you can get. Cinnamon Kiss is part of Jessica’s Fall 2012 Collection which I’ll have swatches of soon in case you’ve never heard of it!

OPI I Think In Pink vs OPI Pink Friday. This was requested a couple times when I posted swatches of the Pink of Hearts 2012 duo last week. No dupes here!

OPI My Very First Knockwurst vs. OPI Steady As She Rose. These 2 are also not dupes, Steady As She Rose is a lot lighter and has purple undertones!

OPI My Very First Knockwurst vs Zoya Kennedy. These 2 are very close, in photos Kennedy is looking a little lighter but in person I couldn’t tell them apart! I used 2 coats of each polish.

OPI Nein! Nein! Nein! Ok Fine! vs OPI Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees. This comparisons was requested, I was hoping these 2 might be a little closer than they ended up being but they are pretty different. Nein! has a very strong green undertone which is obvious when you put it next to a polish that doesn’t! It’s also lacking the shimmer that Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees has.

OPI Nein! Nein! Nein! Ok Fine! vs Zoya Noot. These are nearly dead on! On me,¬† Noot pulls a tiny bit more green but I think that’s just my skin tone since I’ve seen photos of Nein! that look way more green than it looks on me. You definitely don’t need both of these! I used 2 coats for each polish.

OPI Schnapps Out Of It vs OPI Gouda Gouda Two Shoes. No dupes here, besides being lighter the shimmer in Gouda Gouda Two Shoes is gold where the shimmer in Schnapps Out Of It is silver and more frosty looking.

OPI Suzi And The 7 Dusseldorfs vs OPI Grape Set Match vs. Zoya Hope. A lot of you guys wanted to see Grape Set Match compared with Suzi and the 7 Dusseldorfs! It’s much darker and the finish is a lot different! Zoya Hope is pretty close though, it’s a litter darker but it’s the closest polish I have in my stash!

OPI Suzi And The 7 Dusseldorfs vs. Zoya Suri vs. OPI Purple With A Purpose. Zoya Suri was another popular request, it’s a lot darker and not as red toned! OPI Purple With A Purpose was also a request, I forgot how much I liked that polish! It’s not a dupe though ūüôĀ

OPI Unfor-greta-bly Blue vs OPI Swimsuit Nailed It. Here is another request, I got this one after I was done with this post but I thought I’d at least thrown in a bottle shot so anyone wondering can see the difference!

Hope this post was helpful for you guys!

Color Club Wicked Sweet Collection Swatches

Published

on

Good Morning guys!¬† Hope you all had a good weekend, mine was boring…I guess that’s good? haha

Today I have for you guys swatches of the first of 2 summer collections Color Club has put for this year. This one is called Wicked Sweet. All of the polishes in this collection are scented, and there are a couple interesting combos, color wise. I have heard that this set is already popping up at Ross and is also available on some etailers like Transdesign.com and VictoriasNailSupply.com (my 2 favorites!)

First up Is Get Your Lem-On. This one was pretty sheer, but the color is fab. I don’t have anything dupey in my stash. It’s a bright highlighter yellow with a green shimmer. On it’s own I needed 4 coats for okay opacity, I could have used another but I’m not down with doing 5 coats of polish lol. I also have it layered over white on my ring finger in the pictures below. Over white I only needed 2 coats, awesome! The only downside to layering it over the white is that it seemed to kill that awesome shimmer, you could still see it but it wasn’t very noticeable ūüôĀ Get Your Lem-On smells like….you guessed it, Lemon Candy.

The Lime Starts Here is a bright neon green, I do like this color but it’s nothing new we haven’t seen before.¬† The formula was just okay, for a neon it did well, no dragging bald spotsI Always Get My Man-Darin is a bright orange packed with shimmer! I have a lot of orange in my stash, but again nothing like this one. The formula on this was pretty much exactly the same as Get Your Lem-On, very sheer. On it’s own I used 4 coats and 2 coats over white on my ring finger.

Saturday Spam: Lynnderella

Published

on

Hi guys, hope you’re all having a good weekend so far…I sure as heck am, more on that tomorrow! Today I have a big helping of spam for you….this spam is all Lynnderella! I’ve been waffling on posting this because for the past few months Lynnderella=drama. The drama associated with it turns me off the brand so I had decided not to post pictures of what I have. Then I kind of tested the waters in my¬†Indie spam¬†post with 1 Lynn polish and everyone liked it, so I decided what the heck I’ll just post everything I have that I haven’t shown before in one post. Hope you guys enjoy!

If you want to buy Lynnderella polishes it’s a bit of a process…you have to send in a wish list to Llarowe then wait for your last name to come up in her rotations. I think the 1st rotation of wish lists is still going on so depending on your last name you could be waiting for like 4-5 months, it wasn’t too bad for me but I know some people are frustrated with the wait. I know the waiting sucks but I do like that at least you get everything you want eventually. It’s worth it just to avoid the mad dash of trying to get things before they sell out in .5 seconds during re-stocks. Right now Llarowe is not accepting wish lists but last I heard she would be taking them again soon-ish.

To see lots of glittery goodness click the Read More button below!

Alright guys…I’m just going to tell you what I layered these over (for most of the polishes) instead of writing a little novel about each! Hope ya don’t mind!

Boy Girl Party over Zoya Ginessa. FYI there is diamond shaped glitter in this…LOVE!!

Very Pretty Vampire over OPI Black Onyx. I actually really don’t love this combo but I was losing daylight so I couldn’t re-do it. My favorite way to wear VPV is over purple!

piCture pOlish New Collaboration Shades: Siren Song, Geode, Douceur & Imperial

Published

on

Hi guys! Today I have 4 of the 5 new collaboration shades from piCture pOlish to share with you! These were released a couple of weeks ago and I couldn’t wait for them to show up at my house. I always love the collaboration shades, it’s fun to read the posts of the girls who created the shades plus I usually feel like these are shades I want too but don’t already own.

Douceur is a light nude/beige base with fuchsia glitter mixed throughout. This was a collaboration with¬†Tartofraises¬†somehow I had never heard of her blog but since getting her shade I’ve been over there looking through her posts and she does really beautiful nail art! To read her post about the shade check out her blog¬†here.¬† The formula was good, it was more opaque than I expected it to be and it wasn’t streaky at all.

Imperial is a super vibrant purple with a heavy blue shimmer and gold glitter. This is a collaboration with Jeanette of¬†The Swatchaholic. I was so excited to see this one, Jeanette is a blogger that I’ve become friends with over the last couple years and I had no doubt that if piCture pOlish ever collaborated with her it would be gorgeous. Well, let me tell you Imperial is insanely gorgeous…this is one of my favorite collaboration shades ever and will most likely be a favorite for 2013 for me. I wore it all of last week and was sad to take it off.

Imperial is super vibrant, more so in real life than it appears in photos, I’m also dying over the stunning blue shimmer in this. I loved how the shimmer was visible in the sun and didn’t disappear in the shade.¬† If you want to read about how Jeanette came up with Imperial and see her beautiful photos of it check out her blog¬†here. The formula was good, it was nice and opaque…I had no issues with application. This does dry a bit matte due to the neon pigment in it.

Siren Song is a sea foam green with a silver flecked shimmer. This is a collaboration with¬†Rebecca Likes Nails. This shade was inspired Fender guitars & bass guitars by Mark & Tom from Blink 182. Ah yes…now that’s my kind of inspiration I love me some Blink 182 and have seen them live several times throughout the years…even stood in like for like 6 hours about 10 years ago to meet them (now I feel old btw). I love the shimmer/glitter in this. It’s bigger than shimmer but smaller than micro glitter…it’s interesting! To read more about the inspiration and naming of Siren Song check out Rebecca’s post¬†here. The formula was good, it was a bit streaky on the first coat but perfect with the second coat.

All of the new Collaboration shades are available on the piCture pOlish website, along with at their network of etailers all over the world like Llarowe, Harlow & Co and Nail Polish Canada. For a full list of etailers all over the world check out the piCture pOlish website here.
