Nicole by OPI Kardashian Collection Swatches!

Published

on

Hi guys! Happy Monday! Today I have a mega post for you, it’s probably one of the most picture heavy posts I’ve done! The reason why is that I have the whole Kardashian Collection from Nicole by OPI for you! This collection is a pretty large one consisting of 14 new shades, it’s a mixed bag of cremes, shimmers and glitters. Color wise it’s all over the place, so there is a little something for everyone!

All Kendall-ed Up is a bright hot pink creme. Color wise it’s not very unique but I love a good hot pink…this makes me want summer back! The formula was pretty good, I used 2 coats for full opacity.

Disco Dolls is golden glitter bomb! It’s packed with small gold glitter and larger multicolored hex glitter. I really like this, it different and crazy! I kind of feel like I’m wearing a party on my nails! It reminds me of what Deborah Lippmann did with Forget You and Candy Shop except with a glitter base instead of a jelly base. The formula was good, thick but easy to work with. I used 2 coats for full opacity. It dried a little bit dull and with texture, if you want this smooth you’re going to need a couple coats of a thick top coat like Seche Vite.

Follow Me On Glitter is a charcoal grey version of Disco Dolls above. It’s got the same mix of multicolored hex glitter but the base is a mixture of small black and silver glitter. I like this one a bit better than Disco Dolls only because gold isn’t my favorite thing to wear. This is a little bit more subtle…for lack of a better way to describe it. Formula wise it’s the same as Disco Dolls! I used 2 coats for the photos below.

It’s All About The Glam is a shimmery white. In the bottle the shimmer looked blue and pink but the color of the shimmer doesn’t really pop once you get it on the nail. I really like this one, it feels very holiday-ish to me. Formula wise it was a bit sheer but it built up beautifully in 3 coats!

Kendall On The Katwalk is blue, green and purple glitter in a sheer navy base. This polish is WHOA! I saw it in the bottle and hoped it would translate onto the nail looking half as amazing! This is easily my favorite of the collection, the mix of glitter is gorgeous and so interesting to look at! This one was also a bit sheer, I used 3 coats. It was not fun to remove but it was SO worth it! It dried a bit dull and with texture like the previous glitters. Try not to drool when you get down to the close up below haha!

Khloé Had A Little Lam-Lam is a dark blue/green creme. No surprise, I love this! What can I say, I’m a sucker for teal. I’m actually wearing this with a coat of Kendall On The Katwalk over it right now, it’s pretty much amazing. The formula was really great, almost a one coater! I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Kim-pletely In Love is a light baby pink with blue and green shimmer. This is a surprise favorite for me, in the bottle it was fab but I thought I probably wouldn’t like it on. Wrong, it’s amazing on. The shimmer is really pretty in this, it does a bit of a disappearing act in low light though. This is a great work neutral shade with a little something special in it. It was a bit sheer, no surprise there but I only needed 3 coats for full opacity…I expected to need at least 4.

Kourt Is Red-y For A Pedi is a bright orangey red creme, almost a jelly…it’s walking that line between the two. While I do like this shade red, not a one I would usually grab for. The formula was good, it was a bit sheer…it looked pretty good at 2 coats but I could still see VNL (Visible Nail Line) so I did a 3rd coat for the photos below. I love how shiny this dried!

Listen To Your Momager is a bright sparkling blue! It has a dark blue jelly base with blue microglitter mixed in. It’s like a lighter/brighter version of Sue Vs. Shue which was part of the Glee Collection Sephora by OPI put out earlier this year. The formula was great on this one, 2 cots for full opacity!

My Empire…My Rules is a warm taupe brown. Definitely not unique by any means but who doesn’t love a nice taupe right?!? the formula was really nice with this one, I used 2 coats for full opacity.

Rainbow In The S-Kylie is a glitter bomb! It’s a mix of small multicolored glitter and larger multicolored hex glitter. I’ve heard it’s a dupe to Rainbow Connection from The Muppets Collection from OPI…since I don’t have that yet I have no idea if it is. Either way I feel like I already own this many times over. Pretty nonetheless, I will never tire of glitter like this! I used 1 coat of Rainbow In The S-Kylie over It’s All About The Glam for the photos below. It was a little hard to work with…the glitter didn’t want to spread…all the bigger piece of hex glitter kept wanting to get all clumped together in one spot.

Sealed With A Kris is a blue toned red creme. This one is a lot like Kourt Is Red-y For A Pedi, it’s walking that same line between a creme and a jelly. This kind of red is what I tend to gravitate towards more, I don’t even wear red polish that much but I always seem to love ones this shade. The formula was great, a little sheer at first but I only needed 2 coats for full opacity.

Wear Something Spar-Kylie is a glittery pink! It’s a very light rosy pink base packed with silver and pink glitter. It’s like the pink little sister to OPI DS Bold haha! This shade is perfectly girly, I really like it! Formula wise it was good, a bit on the thick side but easy to apply. It was also nice and opaque I used 2 coats for the full opacity.

Overall I really like this collection, it’s kind of all over the place but I think that’s almost a good thing…there is something for everyone. My 2 favorites are Kendall On The Katwalk and Kim-pletely In Love! I also really enjoy how different Disco Dolls and Follow Me On Glitter are. I was very worried when I heard Kardashian in the name sentence as nail polish collection, but I think they did pretty well here!

Kardashian Kolors will be available Holiday 2011 for $7.99 each ($11.00 CAD). Last I heard the official date is November 1st (though the Nicole by OPI Facebook says November 25th, lets hope for 11/1!), so you should be seeing these on shelves very very soon!

Color Club Wicked Sweet Collection Swatches

Published

on

Good Morning guys!  Hope you all had a good weekend, mine was boring…I guess that’s good? haha

Today I have for you guys swatches of the first of 2 summer collections Color Club has put for this year. This one is called Wicked Sweet. All of the polishes in this collection are scented, and there are a couple interesting combos, color wise. I have heard that this set is already popping up at Ross and is also available on some etailers like Transdesign.com and VictoriasNailSupply.com (my 2 favorites!)

First up Is Get Your Lem-On. This one was pretty sheer, but the color is fab. I don’t have anything dupey in my stash. It’s a bright highlighter yellow with a green shimmer. On it’s own I needed 4 coats for okay opacity, I could have used another but I’m not down with doing 5 coats of polish lol. I also have it layered over white on my ring finger in the pictures below. Over white I only needed 2 coats, awesome! The only downside to layering it over the white is that it seemed to kill that awesome shimmer, you could still see it but it wasn’t very noticeable 🙁 Get Your Lem-On smells like….you guessed it, Lemon Candy.

The Lime Starts Here is a bright neon green, I do like this color but it’s nothing new we haven’t seen before.  The formula was just okay, for a neon it did well, no dragging bald spotsI Always Get My Man-Darin is a bright orange packed with shimmer! I have a lot of orange in my stash, but again nothing like this one. The formula on this was pretty much exactly the same as Get Your Lem-On, very sheer. On it’s own I used 4 coats and 2 coats over white on my ring finger.

Saturday Spam: Lynnderella

Published

on

Hi guys, hope you’re all having a good weekend so far…I sure as heck am, more on that tomorrow! Today I have a big helping of spam for you….this spam is all Lynnderella! I’ve been waffling on posting this because for the past few months Lynnderella=drama. The drama associated with it turns me off the brand so I had decided not to post pictures of what I have. Then I kind of tested the waters in my Indie spam post with 1 Lynn polish and everyone liked it, so I decided what the heck I’ll just post everything I have that I haven’t shown before in one post. Hope you guys enjoy!

If you want to buy Lynnderella polishes it’s a bit of a process…you have to send in a wish list to Llarowe then wait for your last name to come up in her rotations. I think the 1st rotation of wish lists is still going on so depending on your last name you could be waiting for like 4-5 months, it wasn’t too bad for me but I know some people are frustrated with the wait. I know the waiting sucks but I do like that at least you get everything you want eventually. It’s worth it just to avoid the mad dash of trying to get things before they sell out in .5 seconds during re-stocks. Right now Llarowe is not accepting wish lists but last I heard she would be taking them again soon-ish.

To see lots of glittery goodness click the Read More button below!

Alright guys…I’m just going to tell you what I layered these over (for most of the polishes) instead of writing a little novel about each! Hope ya don’t mind!

Boy Girl Party over Zoya Ginessa. FYI there is diamond shaped glitter in this…LOVE!!

Very Pretty Vampire over OPI Black Onyx. I actually really don’t love this combo but I was losing daylight so I couldn’t re-do it. My favorite way to wear VPV is over purple!

piCture pOlish New Collaboration Shades: Siren Song, Geode, Douceur & Imperial

Published

on

Hi guys! Today I have 4 of the 5 new collaboration shades from piCture pOlish to share with you! These were released a couple of weeks ago and I couldn’t wait for them to show up at my house. I always love the collaboration shades, it’s fun to read the posts of the girls who created the shades plus I usually feel like these are shades I want too but don’t already own.

Douceur is a light nude/beige base with fuchsia glitter mixed throughout. This was a collaboration with Tartofraises somehow I had never heard of her blog but since getting her shade I’ve been over there looking through her posts and she does really beautiful nail art! To read her post about the shade check out her blog here.  The formula was good, it was more opaque than I expected it to be and it wasn’t streaky at all.

Imperial is a super vibrant purple with a heavy blue shimmer and gold glitter. This is a collaboration with Jeanette of The Swatchaholic. I was so excited to see this one, Jeanette is a blogger that I’ve become friends with over the last couple years and I had no doubt that if piCture pOlish ever collaborated with her it would be gorgeous. Well, let me tell you Imperial is insanely gorgeous…this is one of my favorite collaboration shades ever and will most likely be a favorite for 2013 for me. I wore it all of last week and was sad to take it off.

Imperial is super vibrant, more so in real life than it appears in photos, I’m also dying over the stunning blue shimmer in this. I loved how the shimmer was visible in the sun and didn’t disappear in the shade.  If you want to read about how Jeanette came up with Imperial and see her beautiful photos of it check out her blog here. The formula was good, it was nice and opaque…I had no issues with application. This does dry a bit matte due to the neon pigment in it.

Siren Song is a sea foam green with a silver flecked shimmer. This is a collaboration with Rebecca Likes Nails. This shade was inspired Fender guitars & bass guitars by Mark & Tom from Blink 182. Ah yes…now that’s my kind of inspiration I love me some Blink 182 and have seen them live several times throughout the years…even stood in like for like 6 hours about 10 years ago to meet them (now I feel old btw). I love the shimmer/glitter in this. It’s bigger than shimmer but smaller than micro glitter…it’s interesting! To read more about the inspiration and naming of Siren Song check out Rebecca’s post here. The formula was good, it was a bit streaky on the first coat but perfect with the second coat.

All of the new Collaboration shades are available on the piCture pOlish website, along with at their network of etailers all over the world like LlaroweHarlow & Co and Nail Polish Canada. For a full list of etailers all over the world check out the piCture pOlish website here.
