China Glaze Holiday 2012 Holiday Joy Collection: My Picks!

Hi guys! Today I have my picks from the China Glaze Holiday Joy Collection for Holiday 2012 to share with you! I saw these at a local beauty supply a couple of weeks ago and picked up most of the collection. There are 4 that I do not have swatches of, all 4 are red and they just didn’t do anything for me so they stayed at the store. I’m sure about a billion other blogs will have swatches of them soon, if not already, if you’re interested in seeing them also!

I usually really like what China Glaze does for Holiday every year and these are no exception, if you like glitters like I do I think you’ll really like this collection also! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Angel Wings is a golden glitter with a ton of small holo glitter mixed in. This polish is awesome, it’s a dupe of Ultamate Holiday which was an Ulta Exclusive last year…that polish was one of my 2011 favorites and I’m just as in love with it now as I was then. If you missed Ultamate Holiday go grab this! To see Angel Wings side by side with Ultamate Holiday please check out this post. The formula was okay on this, it was a little thicker than I personally care for so I thinned it a bit, now it’s perfect! I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Blue Bells Ring is an icy blue foil. This is the only non-glitter I picked up from the collection. I love blue foils and this is another great one.  It does remind me a lot of Color Club Cold Metal, I can’t find my bottle of that Color Club but going off my photos I think Blue Bells Ring has a little more silver in it. The formula was pretty much awesome, a 1 coater! I also did not have any issues with this staining, thought I’d mention that since sometimes these kinds of blue are a nightmare.

Champagne Kisses is a tan, rose gold-ish glitter with a ton of holo glitter bits in the mix also. This is the same kind of glitter as Angel Wings (seems like China Glaze is doing a lot of glitters like this the past year). I did a comparison of this with a few of the similar glitters China Glaze has given us lately, you can check that out here. The formula was okay, a bit thick…it’s probably one I’ll thin before wearing again. I used 3 coats for the photos below. If you get this I would recommend waiting a few minutes between coats to avoid dragging the polish off.

Below is Blue Bells Ring vs. OPI Swimsuit…Nailed It! I thought these would be dupes but they were quite a different side by side in the bottle so I decided not to put them on the nail (I forgot to post this photo in my Winter comparisons post…whoops haha!)

Glistening Snow is very fine silver and holo glitter. This one is also like the previous glitters in this collection. The holo glitter was much more noticeable in person, my camera could not do justice to the sparkle! The formula again was a little thick, I used 3 coats for the photos below. This would be a really nice layering glitter also if you did a thin coat!

Glitter All The Way is gold, green, red & purple glitter of various sizes in a clear base. If you’ve ever wanted Mardi Gras in a bottle this is for you haha! I love the mix of glitter, it’s fun and I don’t think I have anything like it. The formula was great, not too thick and the glitter payoff was incredible. I used 1 coat over Seche Smokey for the photo below.

Pizzazz is multicolored glitter in a clear base. I do like this but I already own a lot of very similar polishes, as you can see in my comparison post. If you don’t already have a multicolored glitter this is another good one! The formula was good, a little thick but the glitter payoff was great! I used 1 coat over Seche Magnifique for the photos below. Both photos are in the shade.

Pure Joy is red and gold glitter in a clear base. I didn’t realize this until I started typing this post but it’s pretty much an exact dupe of Orly Devil May Care, when I was swatching this I couldn’t figure out why it seemed so familiar, now I know why! The formula was good, you could definitely get this opaque on its own if you wanted to. I used 1 coat over Nicole by OPI Keeping up With Santa for the photo below.

Winter Holly is forest green glitter, fine gold glitter, and tiny holo glitter in a clear base. This is again like the previous fine glitters in this collection. This is the easy favorite of my picks, what can I say…I love green. Photos don’t do this much justice if you like green like I do you will need this. The formula was really nice, not thick like the others. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Overall I’m pretty happy with this collection, I am a huge fan of these finely milled glitters China Glaze has been putting out and this collection is full of them. My must-haves are Winter Holly, Glitter All The Way, and Champagne Kisses. I also love Angel Wings and Pure Joy, if you don’t already own their dupes I’d pick them up also!

I believe the Holiday Joy Collection is a November release for China Glaze so start looking for it soon at Sally Beauty Supply and Ulta!

While I was typing this post up I received the official info from China Glaze for the collection so I thought I’d include a list of the sets this collection will be available in. Color Club Wicked Sweet Collection Swatches

Good Morning guys!  Hope you all had a good weekend, mine was boring…I guess that’s good? haha

Today I have for you guys swatches of the first of 2 summer collections Color Club has put for this year. This one is called Wicked Sweet. All of the polishes in this collection are scented, and there are a couple interesting combos, color wise. I have heard that this set is already popping up at Ross and is also available on some etailers like and (my 2 favorites!)

First up Is Get Your Lem-On. This one was pretty sheer, but the color is fab. I don’t have anything dupey in my stash. It’s a bright highlighter yellow with a green shimmer. On it’s own I needed 4 coats for okay opacity, I could have used another but I’m not down with doing 5 coats of polish lol. I also have it layered over white on my ring finger in the pictures below. Over white I only needed 2 coats, awesome! The only downside to layering it over the white is that it seemed to kill that awesome shimmer, you could still see it but it wasn’t very noticeable 🙁 Get Your Lem-On smells like….you guessed it, Lemon Candy.

The Lime Starts Here is a bright neon green, I do like this color but it’s nothing new we haven’t seen before.  The formula was just okay, for a neon it did well, no dragging bald spotsI Always Get My Man-Darin is a bright orange packed with shimmer! I have a lot of orange in my stash, but again nothing like this one. The formula on this was pretty much exactly the same as Get Your Lem-On, very sheer. On it’s own I used 4 coats and 2 coats over white on my ring finger.

Saturday Spam: Lynnderella

Hi guys, hope you’re all having a good weekend so far…I sure as heck am, more on that tomorrow! Today I have a big helping of spam for you….this spam is all Lynnderella! I’ve been waffling on posting this because for the past few months Lynnderella=drama. The drama associated with it turns me off the brand so I had decided not to post pictures of what I have. Then I kind of tested the waters in my Indie spam post with 1 Lynn polish and everyone liked it, so I decided what the heck I’ll just post everything I have that I haven’t shown before in one post. Hope you guys enjoy!

If you want to buy Lynnderella polishes it’s a bit of a process…you have to send in a wish list to Llarowe then wait for your last name to come up in her rotations. I think the 1st rotation of wish lists is still going on so depending on your last name you could be waiting for like 4-5 months, it wasn’t too bad for me but I know some people are frustrated with the wait. I know the waiting sucks but I do like that at least you get everything you want eventually. It’s worth it just to avoid the mad dash of trying to get things before they sell out in .5 seconds during re-stocks. Right now Llarowe is not accepting wish lists but last I heard she would be taking them again soon-ish.

To see lots of glittery goodness click the Read More button below!

Alright guys…I’m just going to tell you what I layered these over (for most of the polishes) instead of writing a little novel about each! Hope ya don’t mind!

Boy Girl Party over Zoya Ginessa. FYI there is diamond shaped glitter in this…LOVE!!

Very Pretty Vampire over OPI Black Onyx. I actually really don’t love this combo but I was losing daylight so I couldn’t re-do it. My favorite way to wear VPV is over purple!

piCture pOlish New Collaboration Shades: Siren Song, Geode, Douceur & Imperial

Hi guys! Today I have 4 of the 5 new collaboration shades from piCture pOlish to share with you! These were released a couple of weeks ago and I couldn’t wait for them to show up at my house. I always love the collaboration shades, it’s fun to read the posts of the girls who created the shades plus I usually feel like these are shades I want too but don’t already own.

Douceur is a light nude/beige base with fuchsia glitter mixed throughout. This was a collaboration with Tartofraises somehow I had never heard of her blog but since getting her shade I’ve been over there looking through her posts and she does really beautiful nail art! To read her post about the shade check out her blog here.  The formula was good, it was more opaque than I expected it to be and it wasn’t streaky at all.

Imperial is a super vibrant purple with a heavy blue shimmer and gold glitter. This is a collaboration with Jeanette of The Swatchaholic. I was so excited to see this one, Jeanette is a blogger that I’ve become friends with over the last couple years and I had no doubt that if piCture pOlish ever collaborated with her it would be gorgeous. Well, let me tell you Imperial is insanely gorgeous…this is one of my favorite collaboration shades ever and will most likely be a favorite for 2013 for me. I wore it all of last week and was sad to take it off.

Imperial is super vibrant, more so in real life than it appears in photos, I’m also dying over the stunning blue shimmer in this. I loved how the shimmer was visible in the sun and didn’t disappear in the shade.  If you want to read about how Jeanette came up with Imperial and see her beautiful photos of it check out her blog here. The formula was good, it was nice and opaque…I had no issues with application. This does dry a bit matte due to the neon pigment in it.

Siren Song is a sea foam green with a silver flecked shimmer. This is a collaboration with Rebecca Likes Nails. This shade was inspired Fender guitars & bass guitars by Mark & Tom from Blink 182. Ah yes…now that’s my kind of inspiration I love me some Blink 182 and have seen them live several times throughout the years…even stood in like for like 6 hours about 10 years ago to meet them (now I feel old btw). I love the shimmer/glitter in this. It’s bigger than shimmer but smaller than micro glitter…it’s interesting! To read more about the inspiration and naming of Siren Song check out Rebecca’s post here. The formula was good, it was a bit streaky on the first coat but perfect with the second coat.

All of the new Collaboration shades are available on the piCture pOlish website, along with at their network of etailers all over the world like LlaroweHarlow & Co and Nail Polish Canada. For a full list of etailers all over the world check out the piCture pOlish website here.
