China Glaze Spring 2016 House of Colour Collection Swatches & Review

Hi Guys! Today I have the China Glaze House of Colour Collection for Spring 2016 to share with you! This collection was inspired by the 1970’s. China Glaze says the collection celebrates the independent vibes of the era. The collection is made up of soft cremes along with a couple glitters and shimmers to round it out. Check out the swatches after the jump!

All of the photos in this post are with top coat, I used Glossy Glam from Rica.

About Layin’ Out is a coraly salmon pink. This has a bit of a crelly look to it which I always like, since it dries nice and shiny! The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Chrome Is Where The Heart Is is a pink toned chrome. I’m not a huge fan of this type of finish since I feel like it emphasizes imperfections in my nails but if you like the finish this is a nice one. The formula was good, it was a good consistency and had fantastic opacity. It was a little brush strokey when applying but it dried down smooth. I used 1 coat for the photos below.

Come Rain or Shine is a cobalt blue with pink shimmer. The shimmer in this is pretty hidden but visible in bright light. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Don’t Be Shallow is a sky blue creme. This felt like a more jelly formula to me, it was sheer but buildable and dried shiny. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Girls Just Wanna Have Sun is a soft pastel yellow creme. If you have strong pink undertones like I do this does tend to pull them out and make your hands look red but its not something that would stop me from wearing it. The formula was pretty good for such a light yellow. It was easy to apply and only had minor streakiness. I used 1 thin coat and 1 thick coat to get it even.

Glitter Me This…  is gold, light pink and white glitter in various sizes in a clear base. I will forever be a sucker for this color combo, I don’t know what it is about it since I’m usually not a fan of gold but this is just so pretty. The formula was ok, it does need some glitter placement and some fishing if you want the big white hex glitter but it wasn’t that big of a deal. I used 1 dabbed coat over Don’t Be Shallow for the photos below.

In The Near Fuchsia is a fuchsia pink creme. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Let’s Chalk About It is a very very light pink creme. Pretty much its white with a drop of pink in it. The formula was ok, it was a little thinner than what I personally prefer. I also had some streakiness but it was easy to even out. I used 3 thin coats for the photos below.

Moonlight The Night is transparent blue, purple and iridescent glitter in a clear base. This is my favorite from the collection, I love these kinds of glitters. Since the glitter has a transparent quality to it, it will look different depending on what you layer it over. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had fantastic glitter payoff. I used 1 coat over Let’s Chalk About It for the photos below.

Pink Or Swim is warm bubblegum pink creme. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easy to work with. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Shut The Front Door! is a pink toned purple with a strong shimmer. This actually looks more metallic in person than it looks in photos. The formula was good, it was a good consistency and had good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Sorry I’m Latte is a beige nude creme. The formula was a little thin but easy to work with and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Overall my picks from the collection are Moonlight the Night and Glitter Me This…

The House of Colour Collection is available at Ulta & Sally Beauty for $7.50 each.

Color Club Wicked Sweet Collection Swatches

Good Morning guys!  Hope you all had a good weekend, mine was boring…I guess that’s good? haha

Today I have for you guys swatches of the first of 2 summer collections Color Club has put for this year. This one is called Wicked Sweet. All of the polishes in this collection are scented, and there are a couple interesting combos, color wise. I have heard that this set is already popping up at Ross and is also available on some etailers like and (my 2 favorites!)

First up Is Get Your Lem-On. This one was pretty sheer, but the color is fab. I don’t have anything dupey in my stash. It’s a bright highlighter yellow with a green shimmer. On it’s own I needed 4 coats for okay opacity, I could have used another but I’m not down with doing 5 coats of polish lol. I also have it layered over white on my ring finger in the pictures below. Over white I only needed 2 coats, awesome! The only downside to layering it over the white is that it seemed to kill that awesome shimmer, you could still see it but it wasn’t very noticeable 🙁 Get Your Lem-On smells like….you guessed it, Lemon Candy.

The Lime Starts Here is a bright neon green, I do like this color but it’s nothing new we haven’t seen before.  The formula was just okay, for a neon it did well, no dragging bald spotsI Always Get My Man-Darin is a bright orange packed with shimmer! I have a lot of orange in my stash, but again nothing like this one. The formula on this was pretty much exactly the same as Get Your Lem-On, very sheer. On it’s own I used 4 coats and 2 coats over white on my ring finger.

Saturday Spam: Lynnderella

Hi guys, hope you’re all having a good weekend so far…I sure as heck am, more on that tomorrow! Today I have a big helping of spam for you….this spam is all Lynnderella! I’ve been waffling on posting this because for the past few months Lynnderella=drama. The drama associated with it turns me off the brand so I had decided not to post pictures of what I have. Then I kind of tested the waters in my Indie spam post with 1 Lynn polish and everyone liked it, so I decided what the heck I’ll just post everything I have that I haven’t shown before in one post. Hope you guys enjoy!

If you want to buy Lynnderella polishes it’s a bit of a process…you have to send in a wish list to Llarowe then wait for your last name to come up in her rotations. I think the 1st rotation of wish lists is still going on so depending on your last name you could be waiting for like 4-5 months, it wasn’t too bad for me but I know some people are frustrated with the wait. I know the waiting sucks but I do like that at least you get everything you want eventually. It’s worth it just to avoid the mad dash of trying to get things before they sell out in .5 seconds during re-stocks. Right now Llarowe is not accepting wish lists but last I heard she would be taking them again soon-ish.

Alright guys…I’m just going to tell you what I layered these over (for most of the polishes) instead of writing a little novel about each! Hope ya don’t mind!

Boy Girl Party over Zoya Ginessa. FYI there is diamond shaped glitter in this…LOVE!!

Very Pretty Vampire over OPI Black Onyx. I actually really don’t love this combo but I was losing daylight so I couldn’t re-do it. My favorite way to wear VPV is over purple!

piCture pOlish New Collaboration Shades: Siren Song, Geode, Douceur & Imperial

Hi guys! Today I have 4 of the 5 new collaboration shades from piCture pOlish to share with you! These were released a couple of weeks ago and I couldn’t wait for them to show up at my house. I always love the collaboration shades, it’s fun to read the posts of the girls who created the shades plus I usually feel like these are shades I want too but don’t already own.

Douceur is a light nude/beige base with fuchsia glitter mixed throughout. This was a collaboration with Tartofraises somehow I had never heard of her blog but since getting her shade I’ve been over there looking through her posts and she does really beautiful nail art! To read her post about the shade check out her blog here.  The formula was good, it was more opaque than I expected it to be and it wasn’t streaky at all.

Imperial is a super vibrant purple with a heavy blue shimmer and gold glitter. This is a collaboration with Jeanette of The Swatchaholic. I was so excited to see this one, Jeanette is a blogger that I’ve become friends with over the last couple years and I had no doubt that if piCture pOlish ever collaborated with her it would be gorgeous. Well, let me tell you Imperial is insanely gorgeous…this is one of my favorite collaboration shades ever and will most likely be a favorite for 2013 for me. I wore it all of last week and was sad to take it off.

Imperial is super vibrant, more so in real life than it appears in photos, I’m also dying over the stunning blue shimmer in this. I loved how the shimmer was visible in the sun and didn’t disappear in the shade.  If you want to read about how Jeanette came up with Imperial and see her beautiful photos of it check out her blog here. The formula was good, it was nice and opaque…I had no issues with application. This does dry a bit matte due to the neon pigment in it.

Siren Song is a sea foam green with a silver flecked shimmer. This is a collaboration with Rebecca Likes Nails. This shade was inspired Fender guitars & bass guitars by Mark & Tom from Blink 182. Ah yes…now that’s my kind of inspiration I love me some Blink 182 and have seen them live several times throughout the years…even stood in like for like 6 hours about 10 years ago to meet them (now I feel old btw). I love the shimmer/glitter in this. It’s bigger than shimmer but smaller than micro glitter…it’s interesting! To read more about the inspiration and naming of Siren Song check out Rebecca’s post here. The formula was good, it was a bit streaky on the first coat but perfect with the second coat.

All of the new Collaboration shades are available on the piCture pOlish website, along with at their network of etailers all over the world like LlaroweHarlow & Co and Nail Polish Canada. For a full list of etailers all over the world check out the piCture pOlish website here.
