China Glaze Holiday 2013 Happy HoliGlaze Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have the China Glaze Happy HoliGlaze Collection for Holiday 2013 to share with you! I stumbled upon these a couple weeks ago at my local beauty supply which was a nice surprise, I actually hadn’t heard a whole lot about the collection before finding them. The collection is 12 polishes, it’s full of foils and glitters…there is also another new Texture polish in this collection. Check out all the swatches after the jump!

As always if there are any comparisons you’d like to see for these please leave them in the comments!

All Wrapped Up is blurple micro glitter.  Depending on the light the glitter can lean either purple or blue. This is pretty dense but you could layer it if you wanted to. The formula was good, it wasn’t thick at all despite being really glitter packed. I used 3 coats for full opacity. This did dry a little bit dull, I used top coat for my photos.

Be Merry, Be Bright is purple and red glitter in a clear base. This doesn’t feel very holiday to me but that’s alright…I like it either way! The formula was good, it wasn’t thick and the glitter payoff was great. I used 1 coat over Essie Sable Collar for the photos below. This combo unfortunately didn’t transfer well in photos, but it was pretty in person I promise lol. The glitter really popped off the brown base.

Bells Will Be Blinging is blue, gold and silver glitter in a clear base. There is bar glitter in here that is holographic but as always it’s impossible to catch that in a photo. The formula was good, it wasn’t thick and the glitter payoff was pretty fantastic! I used 1 coat over Pixi Deepest Dahlia for the photos below.

Elfin’ Around is a coral-y red foil. I really like this one, it’s an interesting shade of red, I like how it leans a bit coral and even orangey at some angles. The formula was great, it was a good consistency and super opaque. I used 1 coat for the photos below.

Just Be-Claws is a red foil. This is the most traditional kind of holiday shade in the collection and I like it. For holiday this year I feel like it’s red overload with all the different collections but out of all the reds this is one of my favorites. I just really like the finish and the shade of red. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Mingle With Kringle is a gold foil. Not my favorite, I feel like it just doesn’t work on my skin tone but I think it will look great on people with a darker or more olive skin tone than I have. The formula was ok, it was a bit on the watery side which made application a little bit difficult since I had to be careful not to flood my cuticles. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Put A Bow On It is fuchsia micro glitter. This is a favorite from the collection for me, I love the way China Glaze does these kinds of glitter. The formula was good, it wasn’t thick but it was nice and glitter dense. You can layer this or wear it on it’s own…I like it on it’s own. I used 3 coats for full opacity, this dried a bit dull…I used top coat for my photos.

Santa Red My List is a pink foil. I feel like I already own several polishes like this, it’s pretty but nothing I’m wowed by. The formula was great, it was nice and opaque. I used 1 coat for the photo below. Sorry for the lack of photos…I didn’t like the way the others turned out when I went to edit them.

So Blue Without You is a bright blue foil. This was nice and bright, kind of unexpected for a holiday collection since it feels a bit summery to me.The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

There’s Snow One Like You is a white texture polish. I hadn’t read/seen anything about this prior to buying it, in the bottle it looked like it was going to be like the black texture from the China Glaze Halloween Collection. Wrong. It’s got big white hex glitters in the mix, reminiscent of the Nails Inc Beaded polishes. I just can’t with this polish, it is literally the ugliest polish I have ever put on my nails. I feel like the pictures don’t even do justice to how ugly it is, my camera was all NOPE and refused to focus on how fug it was.  It looked like I had cottage cheese on my nails.

The formula was horrendous, thick and chunky…hard to apply etc. If you get this I would highly recommend layering it over white because trying to apply a second coat of this was damn near impossible. This was also very rough to the touch, to the point of snagging on things. For those wondering top coat did not help the fug…I tried it and it was just as ugly that way.I used 2 coats for the photos below.

This Is Tree-mendous is green and gold micro glitter. This is another favorite for me, it is green after all haha! Again, I’m loving the micro glitters from China Glaze. The formula was good, not thick and easy to apply. You can layer this or wear it on it’s own…I like it on it’s own. I used 3 coats for full opacity. This dried a bit dull, I used top coat for my photos.

Your Present Required is multi colored glitter in various sizes in a clear base. There is a lot of different colors in here like blue, white, orange, purple green, silver, gold and more. I like this mix…especially the white glitter. It looks like something an indie would do. The formula was good, it wasn’t thick and the glitter payoff was good. I used 1 coat over Formula X Pyrotechnic for the photos below.

Overall I like this collection, with the exception that hideous white textured polish. My favorites are This Is Tree-mendous, Put A Bow On It and Just Be-Claws.

I’m not sure of the official on shelves date for this collection at stores like Ulta and Sally Beauty since I haven’t seen any official info from China Glaze about the collection yet. You can already get these online at etailers like Transdesign and Amazon.

Color Club Wicked Sweet Collection Swatches

Good Morning guys!  Hope you all had a good weekend, mine was boring…I guess that’s good? haha

Today I have for you guys swatches of the first of 2 summer collections Color Club has put for this year. This one is called Wicked Sweet. All of the polishes in this collection are scented, and there are a couple interesting combos, color wise. I have heard that this set is already popping up at Ross and is also available on some etailers like and (my 2 favorites!)

First up Is Get Your Lem-On. This one was pretty sheer, but the color is fab. I don’t have anything dupey in my stash. It’s a bright highlighter yellow with a green shimmer. On it’s own I needed 4 coats for okay opacity, I could have used another but I’m not down with doing 5 coats of polish lol. I also have it layered over white on my ring finger in the pictures below. Over white I only needed 2 coats, awesome! The only downside to layering it over the white is that it seemed to kill that awesome shimmer, you could still see it but it wasn’t very noticeable 🙁 Get Your Lem-On smells like….you guessed it, Lemon Candy.

The Lime Starts Here is a bright neon green, I do like this color but it’s nothing new we haven’t seen before.  The formula was just okay, for a neon it did well, no dragging bald spotsI Always Get My Man-Darin is a bright orange packed with shimmer! I have a lot of orange in my stash, but again nothing like this one. The formula on this was pretty much exactly the same as Get Your Lem-On, very sheer. On it’s own I used 4 coats and 2 coats over white on my ring finger.

Saturday Spam: Lynnderella

Hi guys, hope you’re all having a good weekend so far…I sure as heck am, more on that tomorrow! Today I have a big helping of spam for you….this spam is all Lynnderella! I’ve been waffling on posting this because for the past few months Lynnderella=drama. The drama associated with it turns me off the brand so I had decided not to post pictures of what I have. Then I kind of tested the waters in my Indie spam post with 1 Lynn polish and everyone liked it, so I decided what the heck I’ll just post everything I have that I haven’t shown before in one post. Hope you guys enjoy!

If you want to buy Lynnderella polishes it’s a bit of a process…you have to send in a wish list to Llarowe then wait for your last name to come up in her rotations. I think the 1st rotation of wish lists is still going on so depending on your last name you could be waiting for like 4-5 months, it wasn’t too bad for me but I know some people are frustrated with the wait. I know the waiting sucks but I do like that at least you get everything you want eventually. It’s worth it just to avoid the mad dash of trying to get things before they sell out in .5 seconds during re-stocks. Right now Llarowe is not accepting wish lists but last I heard she would be taking them again soon-ish.

To see lots of glittery goodness click the Read More button below!

Alright guys…I’m just going to tell you what I layered these over (for most of the polishes) instead of writing a little novel about each! Hope ya don’t mind!

Boy Girl Party over Zoya Ginessa. FYI there is diamond shaped glitter in this…LOVE!!

Very Pretty Vampire over OPI Black Onyx. I actually really don’t love this combo but I was losing daylight so I couldn’t re-do it. My favorite way to wear VPV is over purple!

piCture pOlish New Collaboration Shades: Siren Song, Geode, Douceur & Imperial

Hi guys! Today I have 4 of the 5 new collaboration shades from piCture pOlish to share with you! These were released a couple of weeks ago and I couldn’t wait for them to show up at my house. I always love the collaboration shades, it’s fun to read the posts of the girls who created the shades plus I usually feel like these are shades I want too but don’t already own.

Douceur is a light nude/beige base with fuchsia glitter mixed throughout. This was a collaboration with Tartofraises somehow I had never heard of her blog but since getting her shade I’ve been over there looking through her posts and she does really beautiful nail art! To read her post about the shade check out her blog here.  The formula was good, it was more opaque than I expected it to be and it wasn’t streaky at all.

Imperial is a super vibrant purple with a heavy blue shimmer and gold glitter. This is a collaboration with Jeanette of The Swatchaholic. I was so excited to see this one, Jeanette is a blogger that I’ve become friends with over the last couple years and I had no doubt that if piCture pOlish ever collaborated with her it would be gorgeous. Well, let me tell you Imperial is insanely gorgeous…this is one of my favorite collaboration shades ever and will most likely be a favorite for 2013 for me. I wore it all of last week and was sad to take it off.

Imperial is super vibrant, more so in real life than it appears in photos, I’m also dying over the stunning blue shimmer in this. I loved how the shimmer was visible in the sun and didn’t disappear in the shade.  If you want to read about how Jeanette came up with Imperial and see her beautiful photos of it check out her blog here. The formula was good, it was nice and opaque…I had no issues with application. This does dry a bit matte due to the neon pigment in it.

Siren Song is a sea foam green with a silver flecked shimmer. This is a collaboration with Rebecca Likes Nails. This shade was inspired Fender guitars & bass guitars by Mark & Tom from Blink 182. Ah yes…now that’s my kind of inspiration I love me some Blink 182 and have seen them live several times throughout the years…even stood in like for like 6 hours about 10 years ago to meet them (now I feel old btw). I love the shimmer/glitter in this. It’s bigger than shimmer but smaller than micro glitter…it’s interesting! To read more about the inspiration and naming of Siren Song check out Rebecca’s post here. The formula was good, it was a bit streaky on the first coat but perfect with the second coat.

All of the new Collaboration shades are available on the piCture pOlish website, along with at their network of etailers all over the world like LlaroweHarlow & Co and Nail Polish Canada. For a full list of etailers all over the world check out the piCture pOlish website here.
