China Glaze Spring 2014 City Flourish Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have China Glaze’s Spring 2014 City Flourish Collection to share with you. I haven’t seen much about them, I didn’t even know I could get them yet until I stumbled upon the display when I went to buy a new bottle of top coat at my local beauty supply a couple weeks back. This collection is 10 creme shades and 2 subtle shimmers. There’s a nice mix of pastels and almost neon shades so a few of these could easily carry into Summer!

terDaze Super Smooth top coat, for the most part these all needed a nice thick top coat to even them out.

A little disclaimer before the photos: Some of these were damn near impossible to photograph, for the ones that I had issues with I’ll try to describe the color. I am so sorry about that guys, I try my hardest to take accurate pictures for you but sometimes it’s just not possible to capture certain polishes in photos.

At Vase Value is a pastel blue. The formula was difficult, it was streaky and very chalky. It was hard to even out, even with a good top coat.

Don’t Honk Your Thorn is a beige nude with a subtle silver shimmer. This was one of the polishes without the weird matte finish, it’s not the best on my skin tone but it will look great on people who aren’t as pale & pink as I am. The formula was okay, it applied pretty easily overall but I did have some issues with it getting a little goopy on the second coat.

Grass Is Lime Greener is a light, almost neon green. Photos are making this look a bit more neon than it was in person but it was very bright. The formula was not good, it was very streaky and chalky, hard to apply etc.

In A Lilly Bit is a light white toned lilac creme. The formula was ok, it was a little streaky but I found it evened out and was opaque fairly easily.

Lotus Begin is a purple creme. This is one I had some problems photographing, it was a bit of a darker purple and a touch brighter in person than it looks in photos. The formula was ok, it wasn’t overly streaky but I did have issues with it drying so fast that  it was hard to apply nicely.

Metro Pollen-tin is a yellow creme. This is a bit more subdued and dusty looking in person, think more of a mustard yellow. The formula was not great, it was streaky and hard to even out.

Peonies & Park Ave is a bright pink creme. This is walking the line of being neon but it’s not quite there. The formula was ok, it was a little streaky but not too bad.

Petal To The Metal is a coral creme. This was another hard to photograph shade, it leans a bit more towards pink in person and it’s a little bit brighter. The formula was on the thick side and it was a bit streaky, but not too bad.

Spring In My Step is a light peachy pink creme. This was the most difficult of the entire collection in terms of application, it was extremely streaky and chalky, it was very hard to even out etc.

Strike A Rose is a dark pink with a subtle pink shimmer. This is another that is not the weird matte finish. The formula was good, it was a little thick but I had no issues with application and it was super opaque.

Thistle Do Nicely is a neon pink. These photos are horribly inaccurate, I am SO sorry. I tried 4 cameras before giving up on getting an accurate picture. The bottle in the photos is pretty close to how this looks on the nail in person. It’s a very bright neon pink, my cameras just couldn’t deal with how bright it was. The formula was ok, it was a little streaky but not too bad. What A Pansy is a periwinkle creme. This leans more towards purple than it photographs. the formula was good, better than most in the collection. It was a little patchy on the first coat but it was fine with the second.

Overall I don’t like this collection, sure some of the colors are nice but it’s very heavy on pink and the crappy formulas just totally turn me off. I can’t really say I have any picks from this collection, had I seen reviews before buying it I most likely would have passed on all of them :/

As far as availability goes I’m not sure when these will be hitting shelves at stores like Ulta and Sally Beauty, but you can already buy them online on

Color Club Wicked Sweet Collection Swatches

Good Morning guys!  Hope you all had a good weekend, mine was boring…I guess that’s good? haha

Today I have for you guys swatches of the first of 2 summer collections Color Club has put for this year. This one is called Wicked Sweet. All of the polishes in this collection are scented, and there are a couple interesting combos, color wise. I have heard that this set is already popping up at Ross and is also available on some etailers like and (my 2 favorites!)

First up Is Get Your Lem-On. This one was pretty sheer, but the color is fab. I don’t have anything dupey in my stash. It’s a bright highlighter yellow with a green shimmer. On it’s own I needed 4 coats for okay opacity, I could have used another but I’m not down with doing 5 coats of polish lol. I also have it layered over white on my ring finger in the pictures below. Over white I only needed 2 coats, awesome! The only downside to layering it over the white is that it seemed to kill that awesome shimmer, you could still see it but it wasn’t very noticeable 🙁 Get Your Lem-On smells like….you guessed it, Lemon Candy.

The Lime Starts Here is a bright neon green, I do like this color but it’s nothing new we haven’t seen before.  The formula was just okay, for a neon it did well, no dragging bald spotsI Always Get My Man-Darin is a bright orange packed with shimmer! I have a lot of orange in my stash, but again nothing like this one. The formula on this was pretty much exactly the same as Get Your Lem-On, very sheer. On it’s own I used 4 coats and 2 coats over white on my ring finger.

Saturday Spam: Lynnderella

Hi guys, hope you’re all having a good weekend so far…I sure as heck am, more on that tomorrow! Today I have a big helping of spam for you….this spam is all Lynnderella! I’ve been waffling on posting this because for the past few months Lynnderella=drama. The drama associated with it turns me off the brand so I had decided not to post pictures of what I have. Then I kind of tested the waters in my Indie spam post with 1 Lynn polish and everyone liked it, so I decided what the heck I’ll just post everything I have that I haven’t shown before in one post. Hope you guys enjoy!

If you want to buy Lynnderella polishes it’s a bit of a process…you have to send in a wish list to Llarowe then wait for your last name to come up in her rotations. I think the 1st rotation of wish lists is still going on so depending on your last name you could be waiting for like 4-5 months, it wasn’t too bad for me but I know some people are frustrated with the wait. I know the waiting sucks but I do like that at least you get everything you want eventually. It’s worth it just to avoid the mad dash of trying to get things before they sell out in .5 seconds during re-stocks. Right now Llarowe is not accepting wish lists but last I heard she would be taking them again soon-ish.

To see lots of glittery goodness click the Read More button below!

Alright guys…I’m just going to tell you what I layered these over (for most of the polishes) instead of writing a little novel about each! Hope ya don’t mind!

Boy Girl Party over Zoya Ginessa. FYI there is diamond shaped glitter in this…LOVE!!

Very Pretty Vampire over OPI Black Onyx. I actually really don’t love this combo but I was losing daylight so I couldn’t re-do it. My favorite way to wear VPV is over purple!

piCture pOlish New Collaboration Shades: Siren Song, Geode, Douceur & Imperial

Hi guys! Today I have 4 of the 5 new collaboration shades from piCture pOlish to share with you! These were released a couple of weeks ago and I couldn’t wait for them to show up at my house. I always love the collaboration shades, it’s fun to read the posts of the girls who created the shades plus I usually feel like these are shades I want too but don’t already own.

Douceur is a light nude/beige base with fuchsia glitter mixed throughout. This was a collaboration with Tartofraises somehow I had never heard of her blog but since getting her shade I’ve been over there looking through her posts and she does really beautiful nail art! To read her post about the shade check out her blog here.  The formula was good, it was more opaque than I expected it to be and it wasn’t streaky at all.

Imperial is a super vibrant purple with a heavy blue shimmer and gold glitter. This is a collaboration with Jeanette of The Swatchaholic. I was so excited to see this one, Jeanette is a blogger that I’ve become friends with over the last couple years and I had no doubt that if piCture pOlish ever collaborated with her it would be gorgeous. Well, let me tell you Imperial is insanely gorgeous…this is one of my favorite collaboration shades ever and will most likely be a favorite for 2013 for me. I wore it all of last week and was sad to take it off.

Imperial is super vibrant, more so in real life than it appears in photos, I’m also dying over the stunning blue shimmer in this. I loved how the shimmer was visible in the sun and didn’t disappear in the shade.  If you want to read about how Jeanette came up with Imperial and see her beautiful photos of it check out her blog here. The formula was good, it was nice and opaque…I had no issues with application. This does dry a bit matte due to the neon pigment in it.

Siren Song is a sea foam green with a silver flecked shimmer. This is a collaboration with Rebecca Likes Nails. This shade was inspired Fender guitars & bass guitars by Mark & Tom from Blink 182. Ah yes…now that’s my kind of inspiration I love me some Blink 182 and have seen them live several times throughout the years…even stood in like for like 6 hours about 10 years ago to meet them (now I feel old btw). I love the shimmer/glitter in this. It’s bigger than shimmer but smaller than micro glitter…it’s interesting! To read more about the inspiration and naming of Siren Song check out Rebecca’s post here. The formula was good, it was a bit streaky on the first coat but perfect with the second coat.

All of the new Collaboration shades are available on the piCture pOlish website, along with at their network of etailers all over the world like LlaroweHarlow & Co and Nail Polish Canada. For a full list of etailers all over the world check out the piCture pOlish website here.
